There are a lot of great “northern” blogs. The Nunavut Nurse “Forum” is being created within this web site to provide a forum for Nunavut Nurses to blog about the good, the bad, the fun and the challenges of nursing in Nunavut.

Most northern blogs are fun just for reading the experiences of others who have gone through the same things that have happened to you. There’s a lot of “live and learn” that’s part of northern blogs. They are also a great way to say connected within a community that is widely separated.

We are looking for the best way to manage this forum without being too bureaucratic. Here are the two choices we’re looking at.
1. Most blogs require that you register with the site and obtain a sign-on ID and password to be able to post. Anything offensive or inappropriate to the blog can then be removed by the moderator during periodic daily checks.
2. The other common process is that blogger sends an email to the moderator who posts the content – unless it violates the community standards. This gets around having “spammers” or those who post “shock-value” material after gaining easy access.

Email us and let us know which process would work best for you. You can send your response to Shawn Grossner at sgrossner@gov.nu.ca
